Welcome to The Salty Gardener Blog. I hope that in our time together you are inspired, blessed and encouraged as we journey together. The simple pleasures of life such as gardening, food and the written Word are all small places of consecration were we can meet our Master. Gardening especially has this power because God has left us without excuse as he has revealed Himself in the creation. As we enjoy His creation we come to know Him. As we plant a seed or watch a plant grow we see the wonder of life and God is revealed.
I abide in Western New York State, east of Buffalo which is in zone 5. I have a kitchen garden were I grow vegetables, herbs, asparagus, rhubarb, and small fruits. I have a small orchard and I take care of extensive perennial beds that are constantly evolving. My husband Joe, and I have been married over 30 years and we have 1 son and 3 daughters who are all young adults. Our family attends a small church on the West-side of Buffalo were we are involved with African immigrants. Joe and I travel to Africa through out the year ministering at churches.
